25A – What’s Next?

The next step for my product to come to life is to build it. First interview I spoke to a senior at the University of Florida who lives behind mid who has a car and uses a parking garage downtown to store his car for the year. He said that the parking was too expensive at his apartment complex and he couldn't afford it. After searching for other options he was pleasantly surprised that there was a semi cheap parking garage downtown. This was his best option however he said that it is a inconvenience to have his car so far. It's a long walk to get it and he usually will call a Uber to get it which is another expense. He believes that parking on campus is a really big issue and stated that there really isn't a convenient place to park your car its either really expensive or far. Second interview I spoke to a freshman at the University of Florida who lives in a dorm, has a car and uses street parking. After speaking to her I found out that she brought her car down her...

24A – Venture Concept No. 1

Opportunity Due to the amount of students attending University of Florida the need to increase the amount of student parking is rising greatly. The environment changed and created this opportunity because more people started attending the school.  This market is University of Florida students who live in Gainesville and own a vehicle.  Customers needs are not satisfied, there are not enough parking garages in Gainesville or around campus and parking is usually expensive. I think this opportunity is really big because I think people are always struggling to find parking and this will allow the students needs to be satisfied. I am not sure how long the “window of opportunity” will be open I guess it will be open until someone else steps up and builds a parking garage that has student discount rates. Innovation My product is a discount parking garage for University of Florida students. It works by you get a placard and use it to get into the garage.  If you are go...

23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

Determination V- This is a valuable because this is going to be a long tedious task and it takes a lot to be determined for such a big project R- this is a rare resource because not many people are determined and have the willpower to follow through in such a hard task I - This is not a hard idea to be copied by others It would be beneficial if other schools started doing this too. N- there are other resources that can provide the same benefits Supporters who are willing to donate to my project V- This is a valuable resource because I need some sort of base to fund my project. R- this is a rare resource because not many people can say they have people willingly to donate money to their project I- I am sure other people have donors too that are willing to support them N- there are other resources that can provide the same benefits such as go fund me pages. Contractor V- This is a valuable resource because you can't build the project without ha...

21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

1) Adams writes about productivity tips, failing, succeeding, never giving up, he also writes about professional and personal struggles. He says that systems will never fail as long as you stay in the system. With goals you are in a constant state of failure until you succeed and then you have nothing left to pursue. This was the most obvious point in the book, leaving me wondering why I hadn’t thought of that in the past. 2) In the book Adams states that “Goal-oriented people exist in a state of continuous pre-success failure at best, and permanent failure at worst if things never work out. Systems people succeed every time they apply their systems, in the sense that they did what they intended to do. The goals people are fighting the feeling of discouragement at each turn. The systems people are feeling good every time they apply their system. That’s a big difference in terms of maintaining your personal energy in the right direction.” This enhances what I am learning because I k...

20A – Growing Your Social Capital

For the first person I chose the project manager of the Standard, he organized developed and brought his sketches to life and build a big apartment building in Gainesville. He graduated from princeton with a architecture engineering degree and directs the architecture of projects. I came into contact with him last year when I was signing at the standard I started to get into conversation with him and mentioned that my brother was going to school for project managing, and asked him if he has any internships available for him. He then gave me his contact information. Including this person in my network enhances my ability to exploit an opportunity because this is not his only project he is doing projects at universities across America. He was telling me about how his next big project is at Ohio State University. So I believe that he would have a good network.   For the expert in my market I chose a local scooter business owner in Gainesville.  This market includes students wh...
