29A – Venture Concept No. 2

Due to the amount of students attending University of Florida the need to increase the amount of student parking is rising greatly. The environment changed and created this opportunity because more people started attending the school.  This market is University of Florida students who live in Gainesville and own a vehicle.  Customers needs are not satisfied, there are not enough parking garages in Gainesville or around campus and parking is usually expensive. I think this opportunity is really big because I think people are always struggling to find parking and this will allow the students needs to be satisfied. I am not sure how long the “window of opportunity” will be open I guess it will be open until someone else steps up and builds a parking garage that has student discount rates. My product is a discount parking garage for University of Florida students. It works by you get placard and use it to get into the garage.  If you are going away for a month, studying abroad or etc you can sell your parking space so someone else can use it.  I am selling this placard at $300 for the year,  I will start to make income after a while but it will be worth it

  1. Hey Natalie,

I think your product sounds really great. It will definitely be beneficial to both the students at UF and the community. It would free up so much space on the road because people would stop street parking. Your parking garage could even help local businesses. Its always a pain for me to go downtown to eat because is a pain. So adding a new parking garage would encourage people to go downtown more due to fewer parking hassle. Best of luck and Merry Chrysler!

  2. Hi Natalie,
I think you may be on to something that will make the activity of parking a car less frustrating. When I was in Chicago, the outlet mall next to O'hare airport has a parking garage that tells you how many spaces are available in each floor. Each parking spot has red or green light above the space that tells you if it is available or not. If you can develop a system that tells all the college students which spaces are available in a app, it may make parking less frustrating.
