9A – Testing the Hypothesis

There are certain people that are at the University of Florida who share a lot in common with others regarding their opportunities but fall slightly outside the boundaries. After interviewing 5 people, I tried to target different people, who have a car and live close to University in a house or an apartment complex that has free parking for their residents. These people fall under a different circumstance because if you have a house  there is most likely that it comes with a place to park and if parking is free people wont be as worked up about having to pay to keep their car in a garage. The first interview I spoke to was a junior at the University of Florida and she lives in a house right next to campus. She falls outside the boundary because she doesn't have a problem with parking anymore. She parks her car in the driveway and does not use her car to get to class. She explained that this year she doesn't have a problem with parking considering she has a designated spot bu...

8a- Solving The Problem

My opportunity belief is that there is limited parking on campus and around Gainesville and it is negatively affecting those who have their cars at school. The solution I have for this problem is a parking garage on campus that is 7 stories high that allows students who own scooters and cars to park for free. The first couple of floors could be used for daily parking and the top floors could be used for year-round parking. I believe this could help many students financially because they are already paying so much for college and having to pay extra for parking could be a setback. If there was free parking on campus a lot of students wouldn't have to go through the hassle of paying excessive amounts to rarely use their car.  In addition, I think that the TAPS system needs to be looked at and fixed because it's extremely unfair what they are doing. 7a- Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1. The opportunity I would like to pursue is the limited amount of free parking throughout University of Florida and Gainesville. 2. Parking throughout University of Florida’s campus is extremely difficult, there is not enough spots for students to park their cars and scooters and students are starting to walk. In addition, throughout Gainesville, there are few parking garages that you can keep your car in for the year for a reasonable price. 3. There are many students affected by the limited parking because the majority of University of Florida students are from Florida and tend to drive down to school and  have nowhere to keep their cars for a reasonable price. This does not pertain to everyone because some students get dropped off by guardians. In addition, there is issues within the Transportation and parking services within UF because people are get ticketed and there is an option to appeal your ticket which takes a couple of weeks maybe even a month to complete and TAPS...

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic Trend 1-  G.D.P. Report Shows U.S. Economy Off to Slow Start in 2017 Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/28/business/economy/economy-gross-domestic-product-first-quarter.html?mcubz=0 I found this article on New York Times. After reading this article I believe an opportunity exists because Americans say they feel more optimistic about the economy since President Trump was elected but actions are completely opposite. Consumers have been pulling back on their spending reducing the economy’s quarterly growth to its lowest level in three years. Through eight years of a tepid recovery, the promise of stronger economic growth has been continued but not yet fulfilled. I think that all middle class americans are the customers with the opportunity. This specific opportunity is difficult to exploit because people's livelihoods are at stake and people wouldn't really risk their money without knowing that it is going to directly benefit them. I believe I saw this oppor...

5A – Identifying Local Opportunities

Irma’s fury in the Keys: High winds, waves, then devastation http://infoweb.newsbank.com/iw-search/we/Static?p_product=Disasters&f_location=disasters&p_theme=current&p_action=doc&p_nbid=W6DX62MYMTUwNTk1MTM3MC40NDIzNTI6MToxMzoxMjguMjI3LjEuMjU1&f_docnum=166E8CE9A68FFA90&f_topic=4&f_prod=APUN&f_type=&d_refprod=SPECIALREPORTS This article shares the experience and hardships hurricane Irma survivors faced as the storm devastated their land and home.  Many of the Florida residents of middle and lower Florida Keys where shocked that the storm hit them to the severity it did, the eye of the storm passed right through their town leaving many homeless and helpless with their lives in danger. After the storm hit countless amount of people were trying to get their lives back together to the best of their abilities with the resources that were spared. The problem presented in the story is the fact that majority of people who lived in the middle an...

4A- Forming An Opportunity Belief

The opportunity belief that I have identified for this assignment is the overcrowding of cars and not enough parking around campus. I live in Gainesville and it is extremely hard to find parking around campus. I'm not sure if this problem existed before I attended the University but for the two years I have been here it has been a huge issue for myself and fellow classmates. The need for more parking started when more students brought their cars to school causing an over population of cars and no spots. This need is starting to increase and it is becoming more and more frustrating to the point where it would be faster if you walked or used Uber to your location instead of using a personal car. The only way to stop this problem is if Gainesville opens more parking facilities or less people bring their car to school. I know for majority of other Universities  you are not allowed to bring a car your freshman year and sometimes even your sophomore year. I think this is a smart idea be...

Your Entrepreneurship Story Hii my name is Natalie Belluccia and I am interested in entreperneurship I think that I have the creativity and motivation to have what it takes to be sucesssful. Im excited to see what this class has to offer and teach me. The one time of my life that stood out to me the most was when I was in high school and just started to get into 3D printing and robotics.  This experience was unique considering I built my own  3D printer from scratch with the help of my brother. After I had a intact printer I started testing things and playing around and I came up with the idea that I could sell the gadgets I printed. So I proposed this idea to the principle of my high school that during my lunch break I would sell 3D printed custom designed phone cases. People in my high school loved it and I was selling them like crazy! I enrolled in this class because I think that I have a future in entruepershup. I've always had the motivation and drive to pursue my...
Natalie Belluccia Bug list   1. For the past two years parking in gainesville is very difficult. It usually takes 20 minutes to find a spot and it would take the same amount of time if you walked in the first place. There are too many people with cars that don't use them and keep their cars parked overnight. There also isn't enough parking for the amount of people that live here. Traffic on University ave is always backed up with cars if majority of the students on campus have scooters there should be a section of the road blocked off for scooters only. This exists because Gainesville is a college town and there are a lot of students trying to get places in cars  but scooters are a more efficient and faster way to get around. It should be mandatory for every State to be sprayed with the chemical that kills mosquitoes that carry diseases. This bug exists because people are obtaining deadly diseases from these insects and there are certain states that ...
